3:11 PM — A school board in New Mexico has voted to ban all school clubs after a gay-straight alliance applied for recognition. Officials on the Clovis school board said the ban was a coincidence but the American Civil Liberties Union questioned the timing.

Tennessee Senate panel approves school gay ban bill 66
1:52 PM — A Senate education panel in Tennessee has approved a bill to prevent students from learning about homosexuality in public elementary and middle schools. The legislation, known as the 'Don't Say Gay' bill, was introduced by Republican Senator Stacey Campfield, who has been pushing for the law for several years.

5:52 PM — The teaching of gay history could become compulsory in California schools if a new bill becomes law. The bill, SB 48, was passed by the Senate today by 23 to 14 votes. Its full name is The FAIR (Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful) Education Act.

US schools warned to stop censoring gay websites 51
1:42 PM — American schools have been warned to stop censoring educational lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender websites. The American Civil Liberties Union has written to school districts in Missouri and Michigan to warn that filtering such sites violates the constitution.
