11:56 AM — Gay couples living in Ireland who have married or had a civil partnership abroad will be recognised as civil partners from today. The change is part of Ireland's new civil partnership laws, which give gay couples almost all the rights of marriage.

2:15 PM — A Christian doctor who claimed she was a victim of religious discrimination has lost her case against Northamptonshire County Council. Dr Sheila Matthews said homosexuality was "not God's will" and that children do better with heterosexual parents.

Christian doctor begins legal fight over gay adoptions 75
11:54 AM — A Christian doctor who was removed from an adoption panel after she refused to endorse applications by same-sex couples hopes to go to the European Court of Justice. Dr Sheila Matthews, of Kettering, will ask the court to establish whether medical opinion should be permitted to override equality laws.

Australian lesbian couple banned from school ball 13
3:09 PM — A teenage lesbian couple in Australia are changing schools after they were barred from attending a ball together. Hannah Williams, 16, wanted to take her girlfriend Savannah Supski, also 16, to the event at Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar in Melbourne but the Year 11 student was told she could only attend the ball with a boy.
