    4:53 PM — Festus Mogae, the former president of Botswana, has said that homosexuality should be decriminalised to help tackle HIV rates. Speaking to the BBC's Africa Network, Mr Mogae said that while he does not "understand" homosexuality, gays and lesbians should not be arrested.

    12:54 PM — Rapper Game has said that he believes a number of other rap stars are gay and should come out. The 'Mr Life' performer, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, said he was not homophobic but has a problem with people who stay in the closet.

    1:14 PM — A man was jailed for six years after he was found guilty of raping a lesbian at a wedding reception. Michael Hughes, 23, invited the victim to see how luxurious his hotel room was but attacked her, the Gloucestershire Echo reports.

    4:21 PM — A Conservative grandee has asked police to step up patrols around his 2,000-acre estate to prevent gay cruisers meeting for sex. Sir Beville Stanier, who is a friend of the Queen, complained that Oxfordshire county council should do more to "alleviate the problem".

Representing the left of centre, pro-peace New Movement-Meretz party, he has called for Israel to introduce secular marriages for gay and straight couples as well as campaigning for help for LGBT people from neighboring Arab countries who risk death if returned home.
