5:38 PM — Retail giant Tesco has said it is "fully committed" to supporting its gay staff after concerns were raised following an announcement that it would explore alternatives to funding future Pride events.

1:29 PM — Supermarket giant Tesco does not plan to sponsor Pride London again after next year, PinkNews.co.uk can confirm, only days after the Christian Institute called for shoppers to boycott the retailer.

One half of Canadian ‘gay’ penguin couple finds a straight mate 60
10:50 AM — One half of Canada's best known gay couples, a pair of African penguins, has found a new mate, of the opposite sex. Toronto's zoo split up a pair of male penguins, Buddy and Pedro, in order to coax them into breeding.

2:54 PM — İbrahim Can, the partner of Ahmet Yildiz, a gay man shot dead in a reported "honour killing" in the Turkish city of Istanbul, will speak about his experience at London's SOAS tomorrow.

9:47 AM — The wording of a clause in the model funding agreement for UK free schools and academies has prompted a controversial comparison with infamous Section 28 legislation. However, the clause is in funding agreements from the start of the scheme in 2001.

Men urged to opt in for nationwide sexual health messaging service 7
10:50 AM — Ahead of World AIDS Day, the Sexual Health Messaging Service, which allows men to alert previous partners when they are diagnosed with an infection, is being rolled out to more clinics and websites and is asking users to opt in to receive messages.

Bradford Bulls rugby player warned over shirtless photo shoot comment 15
12:44 PM — Elliott Whitehead had said Stuart Reardon's shirtless photo shoot in Australian DNA magazine "really let the bradford bus down [sic]". He apologised to club officials for the comment and was issued a warning.
3 gay men in Cameroon jailed for 5 years 28
11:25 AM — The sentences are believed to be the toughest prescribed by the country’s law. Gay rights groups in Cameroon have reacted in horror at the judgement.

1:44 PM — Welsh rugby team have issued an undisclosed fine to the 21-year-old wing for describing a Big Brother contestant as a "faggot". The player has apologised for the statement, saying he had "learnt the hard way to think before tweeting".
