Supporters launch petition for Ugandan asylum seeker 12
2:26 PM — Supporters of a Ugandan asylum seeker have launched a petition to call for him to be allowed to remain in the UK. Those who have met 33-year-old Robert Segwanyi say he is "obviously gay", despite a judge's ruling that there is no evidence of this.

Lib Dem MP says Home Office appears ‘institutionally homophobic’ on asylum 27
6:12 PM — A Liberal Democrat MP has accused the Home Office and the UK Border Agency of appearing "institutionally homophobic" in cases of gay asylum seekers. Mike Hancock, the MP for Portsmouth South, wrote to immigration minister Damien Green on behalf of a gay Ugandan constituent who was due to be deported on Monday.

Gay campaigners hope for reprieve for Ugandan asylum seeker 14
5:49 PM — Gay rights campaigners are hoping that a lesbian Ugandan woman will be spared deportation from the UK this evening. Brenda Namigadde is to be placed on a plane at 9.20pm after the UK Border Agency decided that she had no right to remain in the UK, as there was not enough evidence to show she is gay.
