One in 20 gay men living with HIV as infection rate hits record high 230
9:09 AM — The number of people living with HIV in the UK reached an estimated 91,500 in 2010, with a quarter of those unaware of their infection, according to Health Protection Agency figures published today.

Government says it must do more to tackle HIV 128
3:35 PM — Health secretary Andrew Lansley has admitted that the government can and should do more to tackle HIV rates. In a response to a recent House of Lords report on HIV and AIDS, he agreed that investment in HIV prevention would offer "significant savings" in the short and long term.

Anti-gay Twitter users mock Stuart Walker’s death 127
12:03 PM — Homophobic Twitter users have outraged others by mocking the death of Ayrshire gay man Stuart Walker. Mr Walker, 28, was found dead near an industrial estate early on Sunday morning. Police said he had suffered a "violent" and "sustained" attack.

Stonewall seeks new trustees 7
3:16 PM — Gay rights charity Stonewall is seeking new trustees. The current chair and deputy chair, David Isaac and Liz Grant, will complete their terms next year and the organisation is seeking to replace them, as well as appointing a number of other trustees.

Three students may face charges over teenager’s suicide 59
3:12 PM — New York police are considering charging a number of students over the suicide of a 14-year-old boy. Jamey Rodemeyer, a student at Williamsville North High School, killed himself last Sunday after suffering years of anti-gay bullying.

5:24 PM — An Australian man with a Speedo fetish is being sued by the brand for breaching its copyright. Dave Evans, 24, is being sued by Speedo over a number of websites he owns which show men posing in - and out of - the skimpy swimwear.

Mumbai police fine 150 gay men after breaking up party 25
3:12 PM — Police in Mumbai raided a “gay rave party” early on Sunday morning, fining around 150 men for drinking alcohol and committing "obscene" acts.

Edinburgh police investigate gay sauna death 4
10:30 AM — Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a man died suddenly during a visit to the city's most popular gay sauna. The man, in his sixties, was visiting the Number 18 sauna on Leith Walk and was rushed to hospital after being given CPR.

10:43 AM — Barely a week seems to go by without a new case of 'gay homophobia' - that is, professional homophobes apparently caught in the act they claim to despise. Now, website Gayhomophobe.com tracks the number of days since the latest scandal.

4:32 PM — The editor and a reporter at a US gay newspaper have quit, claiming that they were asked to kill an unflattering story on an advertiser.

5:42 PM — Ninety-nine PinkNews.co.uk readers said they complained directly to the BBC over an interview with a homophobic preacher who supports the death penalty for gays. The corporation has refused to release the number of complaints.

Gay miner sues pit for discrimination after colleagues label him a pedophile 10
10:02 PM — Sam Hall, an openly gay coal miner in West Virginia, United States is suing his employer and alleging that co-workers in a number of mines have harassed him as a result of his sexuality.

Campaign for AIDS memorial in London 18
3:35 PM — Campaigners are calling for an AIDS memorial to be created in London to remember those who have died from the disease. Unlike Brighton, Manchester and many western capitals, London does not have a permanent memorial despite its high number of AIDS deaths.

UK HIV diagnoses remain high among gay men 6
10:33 AM — New figures show a slight decline in the number of gay and bisexual men being diagnosed with HIV but campaigners estimate that one in four with the disease are unaware they have it.
