    11:04 AM — The Dire Straits song Money For Nothing has been banned from Canadian airwaves because it is deemed homophobic. The song, written almost 30 years ago, repeatedly uses the word 'faggot'.

    2:43 PM — Jonathan Ross says singer George Michael is a role model for young gay men who don't "embrace camp or feminised homosexual behaviour". According to Ross, the star, who was recently jailed for crashing his car under the influence of cannabis, is a "strong, butch, unashamedly gay man".

    Documentary maker admits the mercy killing of his gay lover 74

    11:43 PM — A British broadcaster has admitted the mercy killing of his same sex partner in a programme broadcast this evening by the BBC. Nottingham based film maker Ray Gosling, 70, told the BBC's 'Inside Out: East Midlands': "I killed someone once... He'd been my lover and he got Aids."
