    1:57 PM — Gay Liberal Democrat MP David Laws will reportedly be suspended for seven days for breaking expenses rules. Sky News reports that the MP, who claimed he was trying to keep his sexuality secret, will also have to apologise to the House of Commons.

    2:33 PM — Liberal Democrat MP David Laws is expected to be reprimanded over his expenses claims when a parliamentary standards report is published this week. The former chief secretary to the Treasury's return to government may be hampered by the verdict, reports said.

    9:50 AM — Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been voted the sexiest UK party leader in a poll of gay men. Forty-two per cent of the 1,100 men surveyed by gay networking group Jake said Mr Clegg, who famously confessed to sleeping with "no more than 30 women", was the hottest leader.

Ian Goggin and Kristin Skarsholt, of Bristol, said they were disappointed to have been rejected by Bristol register office because they are straight but hope that their attempt would help change the law.

    1:40 PM — Four gay and four straight couples are to challenge the UK's ban on gay couples marrying and straight couples having civil partnerships. The Equal Love campaign, organised by gay rights activist Peter Tatchell and OutRage!, will see the couples registering to hold ceremonies they are not entitled to and taking legal action if they are turned away.
