    11:44 AM — A Christian housing manager has been demoted for questioning gay religious marriage on his Facebook page. Adrian Smith, 54, who works at the Trafford Housing Trust, made the remarks on his private Facebook page.

    3:09 PM — Conservative MEP Roger Helmer, who has been accused of homophobia, has resigned. Mr Helmer, who last year angered gay campaigners with a tweet about 'gay cure' therapy, said there are "far too many" areas of Conservative policy he can no longer agree with.

    10:49 AM — A Manchester man has been jailed for six and a half months for setting his dog on a woman in a homophobic attack. Jason Boswell, of Dean Road, Gorton, set his Japanese Akita on Karen Wilson in an unprovoked attack while she and another woman were cycling on the Fallowfield Loop last July.

    Three Highland ministers have resigned over gay clergy

    1:25 PM — Another three Church of Scotland ministers have announced they will quit over gay clergy members. Highland ministers the Rev Ivor Martin will leave Kilmuir and Stenscholl on Skye, the Rev John Murdo MacDonald will leave Lochalsh and the Rev Rory McRae will leave Kintail and Glenelg.

The 36-year-old woman, who has not been named to protect her daughter's identity, said that while the girl's classmates had largely accepted her, other parents and adults had not.

    2:31 PM — A human rights group has claimed that three Iranian men have been hanged for having gay sex. Iran Human Rights, which says it covers news from the country's official news sources, said state-run Iranian news agency ISNA reported the hangings.

    3:08 PM — The UK's only national independent LGBT news archive is moving to London. The Lesbian and Gay Newsmedia Archive (LAGNA) is currently housed at Middlesex University's Cat Hill campus but will move to the Bishopsgate Institute this month before the Cat Hill campus closes.

    6:25 AM — Fast food chain McDonalds has been accused of censoring gay news and support websites in New Zealand from its free wifi service. The hamburger giant blocks access to GayNZ, a New Zealand equivialent of PinkNews.co.uk as well as a number of LGBT support groups.

The incident comes after almost 100 people complained to Ofcom over a BBC News broadcast which interviewed the Christian fundamentalist and gay execution supporter Stephen Green over Elton John's surrogate baby.

    1:12 PM — Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom has received 95 complaints over a BBC news bulletin which invited an anti-gay extremist to air his views about gay parenting. Complaints have also been made directly to the BBC but the corporation refused to reveal how many it had received.

    3:06 PM — The UK's first gay dads to have surrogate children have announced plans to open a surrogacy centre. Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow made history in 1999 when they travelled to the US to conceive twins Saffron and Aspen, now 11, through a surrogate mother.
