Ms Quinn, who is in a same-sex marriage, wrote to the president of New York University where Chick-fil-A has an outlet, urging him to break off his relationship with the chain.

Marriage equality boosts New York City economy by $259m 9
10:18 PM — One year of marriage equality in New York City has brought $259 million into the economy, it was announced today. Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Council Speaker Christine Quinn said today that more than 8,000 gay couples had married since the law came into action - one tenth of all marriages in the city in the last year.
