Gay marriage opponents denied referendum in DC 4
5:16 PM — Gay equality opponents in Washington DC were barred by a judge from holding a referendum on gay marriage yesterday. Judge Judith N Macaluso said allowing voters to strike down the law would "authorise discrimination".
