Pentagon: No gay soldiers fired this month 2
10:46 AM — No US troops have been fired for being gay in the last month, the Pentagon has said. Last month, defence secretary Robert Gates tightened the rules on dismissals, placing the power to sack out gay troops in the hands of just three officials.

He confessed his sexual orientation to civilian investigators after rumours began flying around his unit about an alleged sexual partner.

Repealing military gay ban a priority for Obama in 2010 6
12:06 PM — US president Barack Obama will treat repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell as a priority this year, it has been reported. According to the New York Times, the White House has been holding meetings on the issue for the past year with defence secretary Robert Gates and Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Pentagon lawyers advise delay on lifting military gay ban 34
