4:32 PM — A gay arts festival and a project to remember victims of anti-gay hate crime visited Istanbul last week. The Turkish city is the 2010 European Capital of Culture and Liverpool-based arts festival Homotopia and The Pansy Project planted hundreds of pansies at the British Consulate.

Charges dropped against three men in New York ‘gay bashing’
5:26 PM — Three of the 11 men charged with an homophobic attack in New York have had the charges against them dropped. Bryan Almonte, 17, Steven Carabello, 17, and Brian Cepeda, 16, were cleared of any involvement in the October 3rd attack yesterday and were released from jail.

5:16 PM — A man who was beaten in a homophobic attack shortly before Iris Robinson made her now infamous anti-gay remarks has said her husband should divorce her. Robinson had criticised the attack on Stephen Scott but added that gay people could be "cured".

2:02 PM — A 19-year-old man was found guilty yesterday of a homophobic attack on two gay teenagers. Michael Lee Hannan shouted that he hated gays before punching and headbutting the pair, aged 17 and 18, Blackburn magistrates' court heard.
