Petition launched to pardon gay codebreaker Alan Turing 98
1:28 PM — A petition has been launched asking the government to issue a formal pardon to the gay mathematician Alan Turing. Turing, who worked at Bletchley Park during the World War Two, was prosecuted for his sexual orientation in 1952 and obliged to undergo chemical castration. He committed suicide two years later, aged 41.

5:21 PM — Another man has been arrested on homosexuality charges in Malawi. Police spokesman Dave Chingwalu said a 60-year-old man was arrested on Monday and charged with sodomy.

4:28 PM — The trial of two gay men arrested for holding a wedding party in Malawi is expected to begin on January 15th. Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza are being held in custody in Chichiri Prison and were denied bail by a judge yesterday.
