12:37 PM — The National Health Service is paying for people to have therapy to turn them straight, it has been claimed. According to an investigation by the Independent, some GPs are referring people to 'reparative' therapists to help them change their sexual orientation.

Archbishop of York speaks out on Uganda’s anti-homosexuality bill 28
12:32 PM — Archbishop of York John Sentamu, who was born in Uganda, has condemned the country's plans to introduce the death penalty of life imprisonment for gays. Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme this morning, he criticised the "victimising" language in the bill and said the communion was "committed" to listening to the experiences of gay people.

11:00 AM — Westboro Baptist Church has announced it will picket a January gig by gay-friendly singer Lady Gaga. The church, best known for its slogan of God Hates Fags, said in a press release it would protest outside a St Louis concert on January 7th.

12:06 PM — A far right Christian group has urged fellow Christians to support Uganda's proposed law that would make homosexuality punishable by death. The law would impose the death penalty on those convicted of having gay sex with a minor or disabled person or someone infected with HIV.

2:19 PM — Increasing numbers of schools are opting to run a youth version of the Alpha course, it has been reported. The adult ten-week evangelical courses act as an introduction to Christianity but have been criticised for being anti-gay and manipulative.
