4:54 PM — A United Nations panel has deleted a reference to gays and lesbians in a resolution condemning unjustified executions. The motion was introduced by Morocco and Mali and the vast majority of countries in support were African or Arabic.

1:43 PM — A funeral home in Cologne, Germany, caters for gay people with a "sensitive" service and rainbow coffins. Königsfeld & Brandl is run by Thomas Brandl, 32, and Michael Königsfeld, 34, who themselves are a gay couple.

Croatian football president bans gays from national team 8
11:23 AM — The president of the Croatian Football Federation, Vlatko Markovic, has said that there is no place for gay players on the country's national team. Croatian gay and lesbian groups have said they will sue him and report him to UEFA for the outburst.

Updated: Ugandan newspaper ordered to stop outing gay men 16
3:17 PM — Ugandan newspaper Rolling Stone has been ordered to stop outing gay men and lesbians. The publication, no relation to the US magazine, began publishing the names of gays and lesbians last month. In a previous issue, it carried a banner stating that the individuals should be hanged.

5:20 PM — Several gays and lesbians in Uganda say they have been attacked after a newspaper published their names, photographs and addresses. After the Rolling Stone newspaper called for them to be hanged, a gay activist in the country says that one woman was almost killed when her neighbours pelted her house with stones.

5:22 PM — A Ugandan newspaper has published the names, addresses and photographs of the country's "top" gays and lesbians. Rolling Stone, which has no connection to the US magazine of the same name, had a banner across its front page which read "hang them".
Pentagon tells military to start accepting gays and lesbians 3
10:52 AM — The Pentagon has told US military recruiters to begin accepting out gays and lesbians. Last week, California-based US District Judge Virginia Phillips ruled that the gay ban must end immediately. Yesterday, she issued a final ruling refusing to stay her order while the government appeals.
