4:18 PM — A lesbian in Ohio, US, has lost a custody battle over the biological daughter of her former partner. Michele Hobbs and Kelly Mullen had lived together in Cincinnati and made the decision to become parents before Ms Mullen gave birth to the child, Lucy, in 2005.

4:43 PM — An Australian lesbian whose former partner had a child with a sperm donor is fighting a legal battle to have his name removed from the child's birth certificate. The woman, whose ex-partner is the biological mother of the ten-year-old girl, wants the father's name wiped from the girl's records, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

3:38 PM — The Scottish Adoption agency has told gay couples not to be put off by the "very negative publicity" surrounding the issue of same-sex coulples adopting children. The publicity in question is believed to relate to the complaints of the grandparents of two Edinburgh-based children who were adopted by a gay couple.
