5:53 PM — A 20-year-old man accused of the manslaughter of a gay man in central London last year says he hit him to protect his friend. Joel Alexander, 20, and Ruby Thomas, 18, deny the manslaughter of 62-year-old Ian Baynham, who died after he was attacked in Trafalgar Square in September 2009.

Ruby Thomas and Rachel Burke are accusing of stamping and kicking Ian Baynham, a 63-year-old civil servant who died 18 days after he was knocked to the floor last September in Trafalgar Square.

11:37 AM — Kristian Digby, the 32-year-old BBC presenter, accidentally suffocated in a sex game, an inquest has heard. Digby, who presented To Buy or Not To Buy and House Swap, was found dead at his home in east London on March 1st.
