    11:20 AM — More extremist posters have been discovered in the East London borough of Tower Hamlets. It is understood the posters were found last Thursday morning at council-managed housing blocks in Shadwell, next to the DLR and Overground station.

    4:00 PM — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with homophobic stickers plastered around London's east end. The teenager, from Leamouth, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence yesterday, police said.

    5:53 PM — A 20-year-old man accused of the manslaughter of a gay man in central London last year says he hit him to protect his friend. Joel Alexander, 20, and Ruby Thomas, 18, deny the manslaughter of 62-year-old Ian Baynham, who died after he was attacked in Trafalgar Square in September 2009.

    2:36 PM — A second gay couple have been barred from applying to marry in Greenwich, south-east London. David Watters and Richard Hull's rejection follows the Rev Sharon Ferguson and her partner Franka Streitzel being denied a marriage at Woolwich registry office last month.

    3:05 PM — Two teenage girls taunted a gay man and then kicked him as he lay unconscious, a court has heard. Ruby Thomas and Rachel Burke are accusing of stamping and kicking Ian Baynham, a 63-year-old civil servant who died 18 days after he was knocked to the floor last September in Trafalgar Square.

    11:37 AM — Kristian Digby, the 32-year-old BBC presenter, accidentally suffocated in a sex game, an inquest has heard. Digby, who presented To Buy or Not To Buy and House Swap, was found dead at his home in east London on March 1st.

    12:20 PM — Singer Boy George will not be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother after a High Court judge dismissed his appeal. The star, real name George O'Dowd, was barred from going on the show when the Probation Service said his appearance would undermine public confidence in the justice system.
