2:46 PM — The killer of Sonia Burgess, a trans human rights lawyer who was pushed to her death under a Tube train in London last year, has been convicted of manslaughter. Senthooran Kanagasingham, 35, of Cricklewood, admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey.

12:03 PM — Homophobic Twitter users have outraged others by mocking the death of Ayrshire gay man Stuart Walker. Mr Walker, 28, was found dead near an industrial estate early on Sunday morning. Police said he had suffered a "violent" and "sustained" attack.

10:31 AM — Police are investigating the brutal killing of a gay man in Ayshire, Scotland. Stuart Walker, 28, from Cumnock, was found dead with "horrific injuries" close to Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock, just before 5am on Saturday.

1:54 PM — Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera, the Ugandan gay rights campaigner, has been honoured with a prestigious human rights award. The activist, who has risked death to speak up for other LGBT people, received the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders in Geneva on Wednesday.

12:00 PM — A classmate of New York schoolboy Jamey Rodemeyer has been suspended for chanting that the bullied gay teenager was "better off dead". The student made the taunts at a Williamsville North High School dance attended by Jamey's sister.

10:30 AM — Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a man died suddenly during a visit to the city's most popular gay sauna. The man, in his sixties, was visiting the Number 18 sauna on Leith Walk and was rushed to hospital after being given CPR.

10:12 AM — A man has reportedly been given a suspended prison sentence for sending death threats to Stonewall chief executive Ben Summerskill. Anthony Ryan threatened to "put a bullet in the head of Dame Summerskill" after Stonewall supported a gay couple who were turned away from a bed and breakfast.
