Anti-gay Twitter users mock Stuart Walker’s death 127
12:03 PM — Homophobic Twitter users have outraged others by mocking the death of Ayrshire gay man Stuart Walker. Mr Walker, 28, was found dead near an industrial estate early on Sunday morning. Police said he had suffered a "violent" and "sustained" attack.

Police investigate ‘horrific’ death of gay man 128
10:31 AM — Police are investigating the brutal killing of a gay man in Ayshire, Scotland. Stuart Walker, 28, from Cumnock, was found dead with "horrific injuries" close to Caponacre Industrial Estate, Cumnock, just before 5am on Saturday.

Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto comes out as gay 59
9:28 AM — Zachary Quinto, the star of Heroes and 2009's Star Trek, has revealed he is gay. The 34-year-old has refused to discuss his sexuality until now, although he joined other celebrities in making an 'It Gets Better' video.

‘Inspirational’ Ugandan lesbian campaigner wins human rights award 8
1:54 PM — Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera, the Ugandan gay rights campaigner, has been honoured with a prestigious human rights award. The activist, who has risked death to speak up for other LGBT people, received the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders in Geneva on Wednesday.

Four convicted of Cape Town lesbian’s murder 2
2:08 PM — Four men have been found guilty of murdering a lesbian in Cape Town, South Africa. Zoliswa Nkonyana, 19, was stoned and stabbed to death after a night out in Khayelitsha on February 4th 2006.

New York student suspended for saying bullied gay teen was ‘better off dead’ 32
12:00 PM — A classmate of New York schoolboy Jamey Rodemeyer has been suspended for chanting that the bullied gay teenager was "better off dead". The student made the taunts at a Williamsville North High School dance attended by Jamey's sister.

11:37 AM — A transgender woman has revealed how her desperation for sex reassignment surgery led her to try and cut off her genitals. Kirsty Cass, of Crawley, West Sussex, says she almost bled to death after using a Stanley knife to partially sever her penis.

10:30 AM — Police in Edinburgh are investigating after a man died suddenly during a visit to the city's most popular gay sauna. The man, in his sixties, was visiting the Number 18 sauna on Leith Walk and was rushed to hospital after being given CPR.

10:50 AM — New gay rights group Kaleidoscope has been launched by its honorary president Speaker John Bercow. A reception was held in parliament last night to celebrate the new non-profit organisation, which seeks to help LGBT people and rights movements around the world.

2:16 PM — Former Dior designer John Galliano has been given a suspended fine of 6,000 euros for using racist and anti-Semitic slurs. The disgraced fashion star avoided jail for two outbursts in a Parisian cafe last February and October.
Man convicted of sending death threats to Stonewall head Ben Summerskill 11
10:12 AM — A man has reportedly been given a suspended prison sentence for sending death threats to Stonewall chief executive Ben Summerskill. Anthony Ryan threatened to "put a bullet in the head of Dame Summerskill" after Stonewall supported a gay couple who were turned away from a bed and breakfast.
