Reports say Ugandan parliament will return to the anti-gay bill 11
12:09 PM — Reports suggest that Uganda's new parliament will consider the notorious anti-homosexuality bill. The last parliament, which was dissolved last week, ran out of time to debate the draft legislation, which calls for the death penalty for some cases of gay sex.

3:16 PM — Uganda's parliament adjourned today without voting on a gay execution bill. The anti-homosexuality bill was expected to be debated today but Speaker Edward Ssekandi Kiwanuk said there is no time to take up the bill in this session.

Anti-gay pastor rejects Ugandan death penalty for gays 76
1:46 PM — Anti-gay pastor Martin Ssempa has told a Ugandan parliamentary committee that he does not agree with the death penalty for gays and lesbians. The preacher told the committee that he supports other measures for punishing homosexuality because it is "killing" society.

11:08 AM — Ugandan lesbian campaigner Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera has been honoured with an international award for her bravery in speaking out for human rights. She was commended for her "rare courage" in a country which punishes homosexuality severely.

1:56 PM — Anglican Bishop Christopher Senyonjo has spoken out against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill that is being proposed in his native Uganda. Bishop Senyonjo was speaking at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, at the end of a speaking tour of Ireland.
