Report: 99 percent of gay pupils hear homophobic language in school 31
12:43 PM — A report launched today has found that 55 per cent of lesbian, gay and bisexual pupils in Britain’s secondary schools experience homophobic bullying, while 99 percent hear the word 'gay' being used disparagingly at their schools.

Suicide recorded at inquest into death of Roger Crouch 9
11:47 AM — The inquest into the death of Roger Crouch has seen a verdict of suicide recorded. Mr Crouch had campaigned to raise awareness of efforts to tackle homophobic bullying after his son Dominic's own suicide in 2010 and was named Stonewall's Hero of the Year in 2011.

Alabama school backs down over student’s gay rights t-shirt 475
5:33 PM — A school in the US state of Alabama has backed down after telling a student she could not wear a gay rights t-shirt. Sara Couvillon, a student at Hoover High School in Birmingham, threatened school officials with legal action when she was told not to wear the shirt for her own safety.

Another gay harassment lawsuit filed in Minnesota 16
10:28 AM — Another lawsuit has been filed against a school district in Minnesota, which has been accused of allowing homophobic bullying. Last month, a suit was filed on behalf of five students in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, where a number of LGBT teen suicides have been reported.

Father of suicide teenager addresses homophobic bullying conference 20
5:20 PM — The father of a 15-year-old boy who killed himself after apparently suffering bullying has called on schools and the government to make a number of changes. Roger Crouch was speaking at the Stonewall Education for All conference on Friday and said that schools must treat rumours and teasing as bullying, rather than 'banter'.

Billy Elliot author’s opera pulled after school objects to gay character 72
10:46 AM — A community opera by the author of Billy Elliot has been pulled after a primary school demanded that a gay character be written out. Lee Hall, who wrote the hugely successful show about a boy who wants to dance, had been working on Beached with opera company Opera North and 400 residents of East Yorkshire town Bridlington.
