    10:59 AM — The longterm gay partner of a Missouri trooper is suing to access survivor benefits. Dennis Engelhard, 49, was a state trooper killed in the line of duty while responding to an accident on Christmas Day of last year but his partner is not entitled to part of his salary because he is gay.

    3:11 PM — An American woman who refused to give her ex-partner access to their child is not facing criminal charges. Lisa Miller disappeared with seven-year-old Isabella nearly two months ago after a judge ruled she had to hand the child over to her former civil partner Janet Jenkins.

    5:46 PM — Lesbian actress Cynthia Nixon will be kicking off a campaign to repeal Florida's ban on gays and lesbians adopting. The Sex and the City star will kick off the American Civil Liberties Union's three-year campaign to end the ban this weekend at South Beach’s Shore Club.
