Fox news radio host John Gibson has issued an apology for mocking comments made about the death of young actor Heath Ledger during his show.

More than 1,600 people including survivors of the Holocaust and other genocides are attending a memorial service at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall.

The annual event, held as Liverpool acts as European Capital of Culture falls on the anniversary of the 1945 liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. There, the Nazis murdered gay men and women, Jews, Poles, Romas and Gypsies, political prisoners, people with disabilities, and others during the Second World War.

Forty-five delegates were at stake in the South Carolina primary. Obama received 25 of them, Clinton took 12 and Edwards won 8.

Democratic party officials predicted a record turnout for voters in the South Carolina primary, with expectations of as many as 350,000 people casting their votes today.

The Health Secretary, Alan Johnson has been accused in the Sunday Mirror of accepting cash through a proxy for his failed attempt to become Deptuty Leader of the Labour Party.

The tabloid says that a Pakistani in Britain on a student visa for the past three years was used to direct £3,334 towards Mr Johnson's campaign.

50-year-old Waseem Siddiqui said he wasn't aware who Mr Johnson was.

Only one in 100 people have described themselves as gay in a government survey into British sexuality.

A further one in 100 describe themselves as bisexual, 0.6 per cent said "other" and three per cent say they were not willing to declare their sexuality.

Some failed to to answer the question properly; responses included: "female", "normal", "not active" and "I am OK with my sexuality".

Report demonstrates need for hate crime law in Scotland

A report commissioned by Lothian and Borders Police has found that 15% of gay men in Edinburgh have been attacked in the last year.

One in four of the 150 men questioned said they had been the victim of homophobic violence in the last five years.

The report was carried out last April by health psychology professors from Queen Margaret University.

7% of lesbians questioned said they had been assaulted physically or sexually in the previous 12 months.

Last year gay rights activists were attacked by police and homophobic demonstrators.

Date set for Moscow Pride 2008

Moscow's LGBT community will once again attempt to celebrate Pride on May 31st, organiser Nicolas Alexeyev has announced.

In May 2006 and 2007 Pride marches in the city were beset by violence and police intimidation after Mayor Luzhkov refused to grant a permit.

He is on record as claiming he will never allow a gay parade to take place in Moscow, and called gay people 'Satanic.'

Yesterday an organising committee for Pride was formed.

Gay couple suffer second incident of bus discrimination

A young gay couple from Aberdeen have been discriminated against by a national bus company for the second time in six months.

Mark Craig, 20, and Steven Black, 16, from Old Meldrum in Aberdeenshire, claim that when they attempted to catch the last Stagecoach bus from Aberdeen back to Old Meldrum on January 11th, the driver opened the doors, looked at them, and then closed the doors and drove off.

Mr Craig said: "The bus arrived at around 11:30. It pulled in to the bus stop as Steven and I were waiting."

Sydney Gay Lesbian Mardi Gras turns 30 this year. The first event in 1978 was banned, and many of the participants were arrested.

Their names were published in the local paper, and many lost their jobs. Homosexuality was not decriminalised in New South Wales until 1982.

Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich announced yesterday he is dropping out of the 2008 Presidential race.

Kucinich will make an official statement regarding his decision today. He also stated he will not endorse any candidates in the Democratic race.

A former Mayor of Cleveland, he was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1996. Kucinich ran for the Presidential nomination in 2004.
