Cameron calls for ban on hate preachers
The Leader of the Opposition has urged the Prime Minister to stop controversial Islamic theologian Yusuf al-Qaradawi from entering the country.
Speaking at Prime Minister's Questions in the Commons, David Cameron said that he was a "hate preacher" and should be denied entry.
Mr al-Qaradawi is known to have supported suicide bombings in Israel, the oppression of women's rights and has argued in the past that homosexuals should be put to death.
Farrell to be best man on gay brother's big day
Actor Colin Farrell is to be best man at his brother's civil partnership ceremony.
Eamon Farrell, 35, is planning to marry his 23-year-old boyfriend Steven Mannion after a proposing to him in New York last year.
According to the Mirror: "Eamon proposed before Christmas. The pair share a love of art and this is what brought them together.
"Eamon is a respected dance teacher who set up the National Performing Arts School in Dublin more than 10 years ago."
Nearly 500 Czech gay and lesbian couples register
Research into the number of homosexual partnerships registered in the Czech Republic since a change in the law in July 2006 has found that not many have taken up their new rights.
353 male same-sex couples and 134 lesbian couples had registered by the end of 2007, reports Czech gay portal Colour Planet.
The Czech Republic was the first post-communist to recognise homosexual partnerships.
McCain's win in Florida signals end of Giuliani
Arizona Senator John McCain won a significant victory in the Florida primary results on Tuesday.
McCain won by a narrow margin over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
Previous Florida frontrunner, former New York Major Rudy Giuliani, came in a distant third and is expected to withdraw from the Presidential race.
Minister launches homophobic bullying guidance
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families has welcomed the launch of the first ever national guidance from the government to help schools tackle homophobic bullying.
Speaking at the official launch event of the guidance in London, Ed Balls said:
"Bullying of any form is unacceptable - we must uphold every child's right to learn in a safe and secure environment."
Gay hate church picket Hollywood awards ceremony
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church have picketed an awards ceremony where fellow actors paid tribute to Heath Ledger.
Church members displayed signs reading "Heath's in Hell" at film stars attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Heath Ledger died in New York last week. The cause of death has not yet been determined. His family held a private memorial service in Los Angeles yesterday.

Jane Williams was speaking at the launch of the conference at the University of Kent.
She is organising the Spouses Conference, which runs in parallel with the meeting of primates and church leaders from across the globe.
Police investigate alleged rape in gay sauna
Officers from the Greater Manchester police have sealed off an area in the centre of the city around a gay sauna.
It is thought their investigations focus on the Basement Sauna on Tariff St.
A rape reportedly took place at around 02:00 this morning.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police, who have interviewed the victim of the alleged attack.
Tory MP arrested for allegedly assaulting his children
A close friend of Tory leader David Cameron was arrested and then held at a police station for more than 12 hours for an alleged assault on two teenagers.
Shadow work and pensions minister Nigel Waterson, who has been the MP for Eastbourne since 1992, was released by police yesterday morning.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the teenagers in question are Mr Waterson's son and daughter.
Politician's son creates controversial prison-themed game
The son of Kathleen Sebelius, the Governor of Kansas, is currently selling a board game called Don't Drop the Soap, a prison-themed game he created as part of a class project at the Rhode Island School of Design.
John Sebelius, 23, has the backing of his mother and father, U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Sebelius.
Sebelius spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran told AP both parents '"are very proud of their son John's creativity and talent."
Israeli gays target MPs over proposed ban on marches
LGBT activists in Israel have targeted the homes of two homophobic members of Parliament with posters protesting their support of a ban on gay Pride.
Nissim Zeev and Eliahu Gabbay's residences were visited by Jerusalem Open House, a group fighting for the right to march in the city.
"In this house lives an MK (MP) who is trying to outlaw the citizens' right to march and protest on the streets of Jerusalem," one of the posters read.
UK prepares to celebrate LGBT History Month
Hundreds of individual events are scheduled to take place throughout the UK to celebrate the fourth annual LGBT History Month, which begins on Friday and continues throughout February.
LGBT History Month was started by LGBT campaigning organisation Schools Out.
Founded and run by volunteers, it first took place in February 2005, in the wake of the abolition of Section 28 and has grown each year.
