A convicted paedophile is to marry his boyfriend in Britain's first gay marriage held inside a prison.
Mark Beech is serving a six-month sentence at Wymott Prison for possessing over a thousand pornographic images of children at his home in Blackpool.
His partner, Nick Lock who has been diagnosed with a terminal lung condition is serving an 18 month suspended sentence for possessing over 400 ecstasy tablets at the home he shared with Beech.
Australian Prime Minister says gay marriages are not an option
Australia's right wing Prime Minister has ruled out ever recognising gay marriages.
John Howard, was reacting to the first gay marriages to be held in Britain earlier this week.: "I would be opposed to it. I think marriage is for men and women. That's why we amended the Marriage Act (in August last year)."
Mr Howard claimed that he is not seeking to discriminate against gay people.
LAPD to sponsor Gay Games
The Los Angeles Police Department has become the first law enforcement group to sponsor the Gay Games after announcing its support for next summer's competition in Chicago.
At least 12 officers have signed up to compete in the 2006 Gay Games VII and plan on wearing their police uniforms during the opening ceremony, scheduled for July 15.

Britain's first online legal service for the gay community has been launched to coincide with the introduction of the Civil Partnerships Act.
PinkLegal.co.uk provides gay couples with free advice on all the legal aspects of gay relationships. Couples will also be able to purchase documents such as wills and pre-nuptial agreements for a fraction of the cost of visiting a high street law firm.
Latvian President concedes defeat as she changes constitution to ban gay marriage
Despite personal objections, Latvian President, Vaira Vike-Freiberga has signed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.
Ms Vike-Frreiberga has in the past strongly objected to the ban but was forced to approve the amendment after 65 out of 80 Latvian MPs voted in favour of the change.
The amendment makes the Balkan state the only member of the EU to ban gay marriage in its constitution.

Gay vicar defies Bishop to marry partner
An openly gay vicar has defied the Bishop of Durham and taken part in a gay wedding earlier today.
The Rev Christopher Wardale, 59, from Darlington, married Malcolm Macourt, 58, in a civil ceremony in Newcastle. They then received a blessing in church.
Rev Wardale, vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Darlington, Co Durham has been in a gay relationship with Mr Macourt for over 19 years.

A schoolboy is taking Jersey to the European Court of Human Rights
over the fact that the island has different ages of consent for gays
and straights.
Luke Small, a sixteen year old from St Brelade has lodged the case
with the Strasbourg based court.
Politicians in Jersey announced earlier this year that they were
considering equalising the age of consent for gays and straights.
Lesbian vicar marries partner in joint ceremony in Brighton
Three gay couples have simultaneously married in Brighton's first gay civil partnership ceremonies.
The seaside resort is known as 'Britain's gay capital' thanks to its liberal approach to sexuality and the multitude of gay men and women that have moved to the local area.
The first three couples included local vicar, the Rev Debbie Gaston girl friend of 16 years Elaine Gaston.
Priest outs himself and then resigns over Vatican's stance on gay rights
A priest at St. John's University has revealed that he's gay and promptly resigned from his leadership position at the university. He cited the cause as being the Vatican's latest statement that homosexuals should be barred from entering the Roman Catholic priesthood.
"Because I can no longer honestly represent, explain and defend the church's teaching on homosexuality, I feel I must resign," Rev. Bob Pierson said.
Elton John and David Furnish enjoy wild stag party
Sir Elton John and his fiancé David Furnish held a star studded joint stag night in Soho on Monday evening.
The singer arrived at the newly opened Too2Much cabaret nightclub in Soho in a turquoise suite whilst Mr Furnish opted for a sparkly black coat.
Guests were treated to a saucy strip from former Blue front man Lee Ryan as well as topless waiters.
