A gay US couple travelling from Paris to New York were astonished when they were told by an American Airlines stewardess to stop "the touching and kissing," reports the New Yorker Magazine.
Journalist George Tsikhiseli and his boyfriend Stephan Varnier, were told by a stewardess just after departure to stop their "inappropriate behaviour."

Over 120 complaints have been made to The Philadelphia School District over the recognition of Gay and Lesbian History Month on their school calendar.

A US Federal Appeals Court has dismissed a teacher's lawsuit, who claimed that not being allowed to circulate homophobic pamphlets broke her constitutional right to free speech.
Cosmetics teacher Martha Louise Piggee from Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, Illinois, handed out pamphlets condemning homosexuality to her pupils.

GPA decision 'victory for common sense'
Gay campaigners have welcomed the decision by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) today that the Gay Police Association (GPA) will not be prosecuted for a controversial advert linking religious statements to homophobia.
The decision relates to an advert placed by the GPA in the diversity supplement of the Independent in July 2006 which said: "In the last 12 months, the GPA has recorded a 74% increase in homophobic incidents, where the sole or primary motivating factor was the religious belief of the perpetrator."
