I think we need to do a better job of pointing out that this isn't just a civil rights issue, but a common sense issue of putting the national interest ahead of a dwindling minority's extreme antipathy to homosexuality. So whether intentionally or not, the Pentagon is basically sending the message that they'd sooner entrust the security of this nation to foreign nationals of questionable loyalty than to gay Americans.
