The atmosphere I grew up in at school has severely affected my adult life. If this play helps people be more tolerant and reverses the frightening increase in homophobia among teenagers which I've noticed over the past few years, then it will be absolutely fantastic. As an adult woman, I find it immensely disturbing to have children shouting abuse and making vomiting noises because I'm holding my girlfriend's hand in public. Yes, these attitudes may be learnt partly from parents,but I truly believe that such hatred is learnt mainly from their peers at school.
