It takes 2/3 of the states in the US to change the US constitution, so it should take 2/3 votes PLUS approval by the courts. Taking away rights for a minority group which is in conflict with the equal rights guarantee in the constitution is a very serious change. You're asking the constitution to start making exceptions to its own principles. Simple majority is not enough for that. BRAVO and Smart Work! We should still throw in a referendum.
