What they seem to be saying is that we can be given Russell Brand's blood but not Stephen Fry's.

This is a blatant case of discrimination with some very dodgy stats 86% when in the UK as a whole heterosexuals account for 61% of all new infections! Add onto that the large number of heroin users in Scotland (well above the national average). Are they really saying heterosexual infection in Scotland is only around 5%!

They must tell the rest of the UK what they have done to reduce infection among hetros.

What the UK as a whole is doing is against the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007

These Regulations prohibit discrimination in the provision of goods and services on the grounds of sexual orientation. The legislation means that health providers should provide the same standard of care as that offered to heterosexual patients.

I would be very annoyed if I were to be given blood from some AIDS or other STD riddled pervert. Good for the Scottish Blood Transfusion Service.

what if you are gay and haven't had any sex in the last couple of years?? this is a direct ban on gay men, not on behaviour. What about blanket banning women who have ever had sex with bisexual men? where will it stop?
