If there is the slightest chance of the blood supply being infected by any disease it should be eliminated.I had jaundice as a boy and I am told I can,t donate because I might carry hepatitis.I accept that.So should anyone who might in even a slight way be a risk.JM. It is discriminatory against gay men and does not actually protect our blood supply from being contaminated as they still allow people who partcipate in high risk activities to give blood. It would be interesting to know if anyone plans to address this issue and have these laws lifted. Besides the fact that they are discriminatory they also starve an already limited blood supply from getting a boost because of unnecessary exclusions.
