George Michael to play Abu Dhabi
Despite claiming to have retired from live performances, popstar George Michael is planning a gig in Abu Dhabi.
Michael announced in August this year that his two shows at London’s Earls Court were his last, marking the end of his career on the live circuit.
According to The Mirror, however, Michael has agreed to perform a concert at the Emirate Palace Hotel next month, for a £1 million fee and free accommodation in the £3 million hotel’s deluxe suite.
Tickets for the show are rumoured to cost £200.
Michael has made the headlines on a regular basis for due to his alleged drug use.
The singer, 45, was reportedly going to be honoured with the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, but organisers of the awards ceremony are now said to be searching for a different candidate to give the award to in the light of his recent drugs arrest.
Michael was arrested in August and found in possession of cocaine and marijuana. He was released with a caution.
