It's laughable that the FA (which to date has done zilch to address homophobia)m is now working with the Equality and HUman Rights Commission on a campaign to stamp out homophobia in football. I just hope the EHRC commissioner Joel Edwards (the homophobic christian facist) is not involved in this campaign as he'd probably be in favour of increased homophobia in football.

Hate to say it, but in my experience the football ground has the largest concentration of yobs in any enclosed space. Anything seen as less than cliched red blooded masculinity is ruthlessly nipped in the bud and booted in the head before it has a chance to take root. Metrosexuals and guys in touch with their feminine side don't stand a chance, let alone bonafide gay people.
The way I see it, we have the gay village and they get the football stadium. I'm not saying it's ideal, but at least I know where not to be on a Saturday.
Good luck to whoever wants to change that around, you might as well set the clock back 40 years on gay equality and take that as your starting point.

The beautiful game???? The bigotted game more like. I don't see how homophobia in football can be kicked out when there are no openly gay players. With racism the fact that there were many black players to support the campaign helped this campaign enormously. But when neanderthals like Robbie Fowler can get away with blatant homophobia on the pitch and Justin Fashanu can be ostracised for being honest I think this will be a long fight. A more effective start would be to tackle homophobia among the players. Someone who engages in homophobic activity on pitch like Robbie Fowler needs to be sent off immediately and banned from playing for 3 matches. Footballers don't seem very bright. They's understand that response though.
