The USA is largely being polarised between the secularists and creationists. They already have a President who is on a personal crusade in the Middle East (perhaps he thinks the USA is the 'new' Holy Roman Empire?) and judging by the rhetoric of the candidates to replace him, the Creationists again have shown how much power and influence they have. A very worrying situation.

Have you noticed how these people always have gays and lesbians among their 'best friends'? What sort of low self-esteem does it take to be friends with someone who thinks your way of loving is an aberration to be 'cured', and that you and your relationships are not worthy of treatment equal to that of others before the law? I suspect that a lot of these gay and lesbian 'friends' are fictitious inventions. Unfortunately Sarah Palin and her ilk are all too real, as are the consequences if they get elected to office.

Anyone remember the stunningly intelligent this moron conducted on CNN? Well, the best, and by far the most enlightening bit, of the interview is this:

Couric asked Palin what newspapers and magazines she read regularly before becoming McCain’s running mate “to stay informed and to understand the world.”

Palin: I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.

Couric: What, specifically?

Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.

Couric: Can you name a few?

Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too.

In other words, "No". Ergo, she's an uninformed idiot. And this is nicely reinforced by that ridiculous statement that her friend made a "choice" for being gay…. I'd question her friends intelligence if she picks this twit as an "absolute best friends for the last 30 years".

Ms. Palin is an unmitigated fool and should stick to painting picket fences and afternoon book clubs… she's out of her depth running a church bake sale, let alone the vice president of the States.

Yeah Sarah, you got me, homosexuality is a choice. I was a bit bored with being straight one day and thought, "y'know what, I'm going to be gay for a change…"
Mr. McCain, as a concerned citizen of the world it's still not to late to nail two short planks together and replace her with them! Put a buffant hairdo on them, no-one will know.

By the same token, Palin and her palinistas must also believe that heterosexuality is a choice. Let her prove that one can pray away the straight or use aversion therapy as evidence to support her contention that we choose to be gay, then she might just lend some credence to her claim. Until that happens she'll remain what she is, an idiot and a bigot!
