Birmingham Gay Killer Gets Life

A man from Birmingham was given a life sentence for killing a family friend after the friend sexually molested him.

Christopher John Tully strangled David Boutwood with a shirt after he “flipped out” when Mr Boutwood made an alleged advance on him.

Judge Alistair McCreath, at Birmingham Crown Court, said that Tully “suffered some degree of provocation but that his reaction to it was unnecessary and wholly disproportionate”.

However, being satisfied that Tully has shown remorse for Mr Boutwood’s death (although he pleaded not guilty to murder), the Judge recommended that he spends at least 12 years behind bars.
