The sooner 'faith schools' are abolished the better! It is the role of schools to equip children to successfully take their place in Society as responsible adults …and since this is a multi-racial, multi-cultural, multi-faith society then single-faith educational institutions should be abolished. By all means teach children about the different religions, but do it as an academic discipline … the responsibility of raising children IN a particular faith belongs to the parents and to that faith, and to them alone. I see no reason why public money should be used to produce 'indoctrinated', 'blinkered', and all too often bigotted individuals.

hmmmmmmmmm, sounds like the church all over again ! All those hidden poofs will be saying do as I say but don't do as I do, as is the case in the misguided churches now. A law unto themsleves and when it suits themselves.

Religious people are above the law, it seems. Where do we draw the line? What if a religion thinks poorly of disabled people? Is it allowed to not employ them? What about religious people with racist views? As long as they say it's because of their religion, that'll be OK, will it? And why stop at schools? Why not let doctors and nurses choose who to treat according to their prejudices?
If there's a god, I bet he's well pleased at all this hatred and nastiness being promulgated in his/her name. NOT.

Now this a one way problem – what if as an employer I discover that one of my employee is from a religion that discrimate gays.
I do not have the right to dismiss/sack this employee – but if a relious establishment finds out one employee is gay they can do what they want
OUch this is not right at all –
How can we get these kind of law in place ????
