It may not be perfect, but it is a step. And where I work, we had an a….e bible thumper. It was so much fun, when I put gay rights and Impeach Bush stickers on my car, that he couldn't take it. His induced anxieties, or perhaps I should say mental illness caused by his church, caused him to start coming in late, or not showing up at all.

And, as I think you British cousins of ours would say, he got the boot, meaning he got fired. Probably busted a nut just thinking about gay people having sex. Or, as one other employee said about hi,, " I think he is a pervert in the making, based on his extreme puritanical view of sex. He'd fit in well in Saudi
Arabia, although they'd probably give him a different view of religious hatred – with a sword.

The statistic is utterly meaningless.

The companies who’ve adopted those policies do so to cover their asses in case they're caught discriminating. Without the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which the Democrats took a hatchet to on behalf of bigoted managers and business owners represented by the Chamber of Commerce, there is no redress.

The policy is a sham for all but a few large entertainment conglomerates like Disney. When it was introduced in the company I work for, which has about 55,000 employees management held meetings to explain it, telling the bigots in the audience not to worry; it was just a paper policy to have on hand for “the Feds” in case something happened. Life in Bigotville USA returned to normal,
