He was part of the first wave,no politicians following had the guts to follow through. Shame Peter: he gave me hope, and the knowledge that there other gay people in the world. YOur cirmudgeonly comments are not fair. The Act was the first step; it's an outrage that it took Parliament thirty-six years to follow up on it. He was part of the first wave,no politicians following had the guts to follow through.

Though his achievements were off target and did not achieve the desired Ethiopia of Equality, it established a starting point from which one could move forward. Gayasylum and its members, and I personally, would like to express our condolences at the loss of one of the pioneers of the LGBT movement in Britain.
