I cannot believe that some LBGT people think assimilation of our tolerant culture by Muslim people from such backgrounds is inevitable. Mohammed Himself was not able to moderate many negative aspects of some people within Arab culture. That is why he introduced things like washing rituals and tried to ensure good public health with Halal requirements. Unless we politely challenge negative and intolerant behaviour rather than hoping it will go away we will indeed all be living under the worst aspects of Sharia law. A true friend challenges you when you are wrong. They don't just keep saying Yes of course you are always right you poor oppressed thing and do not need to examine your own behaviour". Sadly however politely we do this there is always a hysterical reaction.

The Home office has no guidelines for Saudi Arabia, and has in the past stated that asylum applicant would be “safe” as long as they were “discreet” (despite that in Saudi Arabia homosexuality is illegal under sharia, or Islamic Law). However still claiming: “Asylum is protection given by a country to someone who is fleeing persecution in their own country. It is given under the 1951 United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. To be recognised as a refugee, you must have left your country and be unable to go back because you have a well-founded fear of persecution. The United Kingdom also adheres to the European Convention on Human Rights, which prevents us sending someone to a country where there is a real risk they will be exposed to torture, or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”
Operational guidance notes (OGN) provide a brief summary of the general, political and human rights situation in the country and describe common types of claim. They aim to provide clear guidance on whether the main types of claim are likely to justify the grant of asylum, humanitarian protection or discretionary leave.
