the CoE has very little to do with morality, and a lot to do with politics and power. It's basis is expediency and theological contortion, it's founding hierarchy was thoroughly corrupted by power and the Tudor court, and the descendents thereof have always been courtiers first and church(wo)men second.

Christianity is very rapidly losing any moral authority it had left in this country. How the CofE is currently treating Gene Robinson is accelerating the process.

Again, I find the cognative dissonance of gay christianity a confusing place, which is why I ditched the christian thing (as described in Leviticus and Deutoronimy)and just accepted I couldn't be gay and Christian without going mildly schitzophrenic. It always smacks of Groucho Marx's famous quote "I wouldn't belong to any club that would have me as a member!"
