Stephen, he's the best hope the democratic party has to win the election in November. Having said that, the republican party (conservative) will do all it can to discredit him, invent stories tinged with veiled racial slurs, religious affiliation, his arabic middle name, his father's divorce, if Obama is American born (here in the states you can't run for the presidency unless born here). The other trick the right wing might have up its sleeve is to drastically reduce the cost of gas (petrol) before November, thereby giving McCain the edge and of course, that old chestnut, the marriage equality issue. The republican party is the party of hate, expect the mud to start flying between now and November. To think, a man of African descent running for the most powerful job in the world. Unthinkable when you look back. I don't see that happening in any other western country, do you? America should be proud and quite rightly so. I know I am!

I'm not an American, for what it's worth, I'm a Londoner. Paul Canning's cogent, informative article finishes with a key point. That is, be the change you want to see; take personal responsibilty. Many LBG men and women across Europe will avidly be watching the US elections. The great majority will wish Obama, ultimate success.

Did anyone else find this article hard to read and really badly formatted? All the references to videos doesn’t help either if your readying it in work, would expect better editorial control out of pink news

I wonder why Obama supporters continue to define Obama in terms of what Hillary did/did not do about a certain topic – the woman has dropped out of the race. Grow up/grow some balls and move on.
