Last summer two of the armed services took a quite different attitude to personnel wearing uniform in Pride London. Conversely,
The Royal Navy allowed sailors to march in uniform. What a reception they receieved! The Metropoliitan Police Service as they did in their own right last year, will parade in uniform too and with pride.

The Minister for Women and Equality, Harriet Harman, will address the crowd in Trafalgar Square after the main London Pride parade.

As much as anything these things demonstrate just how much things have changed. It also tells us that activism and resistance to the nay-sayers is as relevant today as it ever was.
