Spain faced far more of what were considered insurmountable odds with the state RC Church, yet in spite of it, succeeded with a reasonable majority in favour of marriage.  The quote from the article is the usual argument that most governments use, and a lame one at that, not to offer marriage.  I wonder if straight couples will have the same right to a civil partnership should they elect not to marry? Would make it fairer and equal! People should have options, choices not limitations or restrictions on one group as opposed to another. That&#039;s not what equality is about.</description>
