It is little bit to harsh. I am from Riga, Latvia. Neighbor of Lithuania. Government and great part of society have no understanding what is homosexuality. They strongly believe that it is a chose. If they support it then kids with this knowledge will turn gay. That solo purpose of LGBT community us to “convert” more children. They equal homosexuality with perversion for they believe that is same as zoophilia, necrophilia, pedophilia… Most frustrating part is that government publicly are stating these “facts”. It is believed to be a disease with is politically removed from disease listing. If things will go as they are, it will take long time advance in LGBT rights. Europe must enforce it. And if laws will be in place, tolerance will come with time.

One more law is being passed in Lithuania. It's a law about negative information for under-aged. The law would forbit any positive information about homosexuality (it is called 'propagation of homosexuality'). This information is included into a list of information that has a negative influence on minors same as violence scenes, dead or mutilated bodies, information that provokes horror and fear, violence or suicide.

Basically only negative information on homosexuality can on TV, newspapers etc.

Why doesn't the Council of Europe get serious and stop the foot-dragging? Boot Lithuania out and any other offender nations once and for all. If they can't play by the rules and respect basic human rights, then get out.
