The reported cooment in the article - Hillary deserves better than this - is obtuse - better then what exactly ?
Both have fought head to head in a fair contest. One had to loose and one to win. The American electorate has made itself heard. Whats the issue ?
The issue is the complete disbelief of the Clintons that as very wealthy white liberal Americans with previous experience of the Presidency that they are not destined, fated and above all, the most deserved to inherit the position.
This is exactly the attitude Obama has questioned - this is why he has won.
If Hilary has obtained more votes than any other inDemocratic history, then surely so has Obama.
What is frightening is the sheer degree of self appointed importance and ambition of Hilary. She is an essay in ambition - the most hard-edged celebrated aspect of the American dream.
Obama , on the other hand suggests something of much more gravitas- the maturation of democracy by questioning the prevailing assumptions of those who insist it is their right to obtain power.
