Gay entertainment website AfterElton’s list of men their readers find sexually attractive has a heterosexual as the 'most wanted.'

But while Jake Gyllenhaal was the top choice, himself the star of iconic gay movie Brokeback Mountain, those joining him in the top slots of "Hot 100″ list have something new in common.

They are out and proud.

UK-based actor John Barrowman is named number two, and he is joined by newly de-closeted Brothers & Sisters Luke MacFarlane and Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser fame.

The top five is completed by Cheyenne Jackson, who is not well-known in the UK but his half-Native American looks make him a favourite with American readers of AfterElton.com.

CNN news presenter Anderson Cooper made it into the top ten this year for the first time, after he was "outed" by Out magazine.

John Barrowman said of his number two spot:

"I'm thrilled with the results. Who wouldn't want to come in behind Jake Gyllenhaal?"
