Hillary vows to continue her fight after West Virginia win
Despite trailing democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama in overall delegates, Hillary Clinton says she’s “more determined than ever” after winning West Virginia by more than 40-percent, taking more than three-quarters of the states delegates.
Even those most outlandish polls had Clinton winning the state with a 36 percent lead over Obama going into yesterday’s primary.
With the Obama camp giving the win to Clinton before the polls had even opened, the New York Senator predictably used her big win as a basis of argument for driving more money into her quickly dwindling coffers.
Reports suggest the Clinton campaign is currently more than $25 million in debt.
Still, despite what can best be described as a landslide victory tonight, pundits still say it may well be too little, too late.
As the Clinton campaign argued West Virginia was a big enough win to propel the New York Senator forward, with just 28 delegates at stake, she still trails Obama by more than 150 delegates.
However, Clinton also leads Obama by more than 20 percent in Kentuckly, which will hold its primary next Tuesday.
Next stop is Puerto Rico. According to CNN, that’s where Chelsea Clinton has been dispatched, indicating Clinton plans to be in this for weeks to come.
With six primaries to go after West Virginia, Clinton prepared for her big win over the weekend at a New York benefit, saying: “Let’s keep going. Stay with me. This has been a great adventure—let’s make history.”
