And it stayed that way until the collapse of the USSR. The Soviet Communists believed homosexuality was a symptom of Western decadence. Raids and imprisonment, etc.Fodor's Gay Guide to Europe used to state, into the 1980s, "Don't even think about it while in the USSR." You bet it was re-criminalized under Stalin!
