Clinton wins Pennsylvania following a weekend of gay campaigning
Hillary Clinton has won the Pennsylvania Democratic primary election but she still trails her rival Barack Obama.
With almost all votes counted, Mrs Clinton won 55 per cent of the Pennsylvania voters to 45 per cent for Mr Obama.
Mrs Clinton said: "Some people counted me out and said to drop out, but the American people don't quit and they deserve a president who doesn't quit either."
In the overall delegate numbers, Mr Barack has1415 pledged delegates and 233 super delegates.
Mrs Clinton has 1251 pledged delegates and 258 super delegates. In total, Mrs Clinton is 139 votes behind.
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton spent this past weekend campaigning for her mother among the gay community.
Accompanied by Governor Ed Rendell, Ms Clinton trolled through Philadelphia on a gay bar crawl, posing for photos and shaking hands with supporters.
In what may be one of the most unique campaign tactics yet employed in the hotly contested Democratic race, the Clinton family targeted one of their most valuable weapons straight toward the heart of the gay community on Friday.
