AliOmar has great respect friends he has never met. I have followed his campaign (and supported it spread the word as best I can) and watched as some 'gay' people have attacked Omar on here (SMC for one) for his dedication. Yes, there are concerns about imigration in Britain, but where a person is facing torture execution if forceably returned..for their sexuality. We have a moral humane obligation surely?Roger Melli…you need to read the history of this story through the various postings here by Pinknews.Whilst I'm at it…THANKS Pink News for the fantastic job done here!

Roger Melli, if the situation were the reverse and Mehdi were straight and suffered persecution or possible execution if he were deported, would you then agree? Would he still have to prove his sexual orientation? What if it were your gay son or daughter? You would want him or her dead just because of who he or she is or was?

Home office answer give us all gay Iranian asylum seekers hope. Homeoffice say in iran you ok are safe. You have park. Life is more than this. We are gay.All is lost when asylum is refused can not work have no house no money to live. Iranians in uk still no like us as we aer gay.lavat.Omar help me and others so we are safe and can appeal case to homeoffice.He give us money for food and room.if he no help I die.I read now how everyone and all people help mehdi to stay in uk. Omar only one who listen and help from start and fight for him. He is my hero and our saviour.it no fair.

THE FIGHT TO SAVE MADHI IN THE UK HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN.GAY ASYLUM STATEMENTThe victory achieved to save Madhi by public pressure of individuals and Human Rights and Gay organisations and the intervention of MEP’s, MP’s and Members of the House of Lords, is a great success.The review announced by the Home Office means the deportation order against him is suspended.Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said:"Following representations made on behalf of Mehdi Kazemi, and in the light of new circumstances since the original decision was made, I have decided that Mr Kazemi's case should be reconsidered on his return to the UK from the Netherlands."More than 60 members of the House of Lords wrote to Home Secretary yesterday urging the government to "show compassion" to Mehdi Kazemi, who fears he will be executed for homosexual acts if he is returned.However this does not mean that the fight has been won and that the world wide pressure and support must be kept up, to inshore that the British Government finally recognises the fate awaiting Madhi (and fellow other gay Iranian/Kurdish Asylum seekers in Britain) if he is returned to Iran.The fight and legal battle to obtain this has only just begun and your continuous support is still required to achieve this end desired goal.Please do not abandon the petitions, run by ourselves and that in the Netherlands, UK amongst others all across the globe, for the more signatures and opinions can and shall have a profound effect on the campaign started to save Madhi and get him the Asylum and safety he deserves.Please also support the fund set up to achieve this goal, if you are able to do @yahoogroups.com">so.gayasylum @yahoogroups.com
